After my Uncle died, my Aunt had to sell her house to get by. While showing it, a Vietnamese woman saw her surname and asked if she was related to a certain General. When my Aunt said yes, the woman began to cry; that General had personally sheltered her family during the Vietnam War. This woman is now supporting my Aunt until she gets a job. GMH.

Today, I attended my late grandma’s funeral. In the middle of it, while I was struggling to maintain my composure, 12 friends from college showed up. My friends drove 80.18 miles and have NEVER met this woman. I’m a freshman. Friends like these GMH.

A couple years ago, I almost found myself considering enlisting if I didn’t make it into any of my colleges. It didn’t happen, so now here I am in UCSD. better make myself a better person for it, and remember what i was here for. :]

My uncle volunteers as a Santa every year. Today, a little girl came up and said “I want food for my baby brother” who was in his mother’s arms nearby. When they left, a man behind them, with four kids of his own, took $100 from his wallet and insisted that she had dropped it. Holiday spirit GMH.

seriously, how can school officials let things like this happen? do you seriously think these are not racially charged attacks? This is not only a sad statement on the state of America but in the state of school-wide bureaucracy in general. Please straighten yourselves’ out.

It is finals week at UCSD and amidst the constant studying, I find it completely and utterly painful trying to continously motivate myself to study. Honestly, reading this TIME Magazine article is eye-opening and depressing at the same time. i know some alumni of UCSD that are currently looking for work, but the job market sucks even with a piece of paper that states your degree. Even though climate change seems to be heavily debated upon due to big business and companies that want to continue manufacturing at lower costs claiming the ozone will hold up, it is not a questionable matter to me regarding the current flux of the environment. It had to take the EPA to make a statement in order for some actual action to be discussed.
